WMF POCKET WATCH HOLDER
Jugendstil
This squared and useful watch stand or holder is decorated in a typical Jugendstil style.
It was designed under the supervision of sculptor/designer Albert Mayer for the well known German firm WMF (Wurtembergische MetalWarenFabrik) around 1900. Mayer was appointed head of the Art Studio in 1894.
This item is illustrated at page 297 of the original 1906 "The Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork Catalogue" from WMF as model N° 20.
