German Metalware production company

Georg Friedrich Schmitt (1859-1938) founded in April 1903 in Nürnberg, Germany, the metal ware company "ORION - Kunstgewerbliche Metalwarenfabrik".

The firm worked with Friedrich Adler as designer.
In the short period of existence, the company produced about different 250 items all in typical German Jugenstil style.



In 1906, "ORIVIT" AG already controlled by WMF, "Wurttembergische Metalwaren Fabrik" acquired ORION.

ORIVIT AG then produced until 1914 more than 50 designs originated by ORION.
